3 important technical formations and what they signal

Learn to identify key patterns
Experienced traders often confirm that they often use only basic patterns, i.e. technical market indicators, to trade profitably. If you’re looking for a path to trading, get to know these three key patterns that you’ll use in almost every trade you enter. Our EverStation Pro platform is integrated with TradingView, allowing you as a trader to view trading charts on the world’s most popular platform. So we recommend that you find some examples of these formations on TradingView and learn from them. When you open an account on EverTrader, you will be at home and entering trades will not be a problem.
Trading in the financial markets requires not only the right mindset, but above all the knowledge to help you recognize technical formations. The market is emotional in the short term and very often moves in repetitive patters that are easy to spot. These formations can give you valuable information about future market trends. Now we will focus on the patterns which are “Head and Shoulders”, “Double Bottom” and “Flags”.

Head and Shoulders
The “Head and Shoulders” formation is considered one of the most reliable reversal patterns in technical analysis. This formation appears at the end of an uptrend and indicates a possible reversal to the downside. It consists of three peaks: the left shoulder, the head and the right shoulder. The head is the highest point of the formation, while the shoulders are lower and at approximately the same level. An important part is the “neckline”, a trend line that connects the minimum points of the shoulders. A break of this line to the downside signals a potential selling opportunity.
Double bottom
A “double bottom” is a formation that forms after a long price decline and signals a potential trend reversal to the upside. This pattern consists of two consecutive minima that are almost at the same level and separated by a slight rise. The formation is confirmed when the price breaks through the resistance that forms a top between the two lows. This signal may indicate the beginning of a new uptrend.

Flags
“Flags” formations are short-term continuous patterns that appear during a strong trend and signal its likely continuation. A bull flag appears during an uptrend and looks like a small descending channel composed of lower highs and lower lows. A bear flag, on the other hand, is formed in the downtrend and is made up of a short ascending channel. Breaking through the flag boundaries in the direction of the main trend often leads to a rapid continuation of the original trend.
TIP 1: These technical formations appear on all time frames. On higher time frames, they logically occur less frequently, but have a higher probability and strength. Conversely, the lower the timeframe you go to, the lower the probability of success and often the so-called. fake receipts. Therefore, it is always a good idea to start your technical analysis from a higher time frame. It is crucial where a particular technical pattern is located.
TIP 2: Remember also that technical patterns rarely occur in the market in the way you know from textbooks. The market is an imperfect environment and every moment in the market is unique, even though it may look similar to what it has in history. That’s why it’s good to use zones rather than specific numbers and give the market some space.
TIP 3: Choose max. 3 assets (forex pairs, stocks, commodities, indices…), which you can load and try searching for these technical patters here. Draw them on a chart in history. See what their typical sizes and variances are and then try to identify them in the current market.
Try proven techniques in practice
Recognizing and interpreting technical formations is an essential skill for any trader who wants to trade successfully in the financial markets. Knowing patterns such as “Head and Shoulders”, “Double Bottom” and “Flags” can greatly improve your decision making for entering and exiting trades. Once you learn to identify and interpret these formations correctly, you will have a new perspective on the markets and how to profit from them.
Most beginners are afraid to start trading and think that they can become successful only after reading thick books. But the opposite is true. You only need a minimum of information for profitable trading, on the contrary, the more information you add, the more you will complicate your trading unnecessarily. It is said that professional trading is closest to the beginning. 🙂
